The Central Committee of the Anglican Church in Belgium

  1. Represents Anglican Christianity in the Kingdom of Belgium,

  2. Liaises with all secular authorities in the country, in particular with the Federal Ministry of Justice, the Dialoograad/Conseil de dialogue (the Federal government liaison committee with the recognised religions), and the Flemish Interfaith Dialogue,

  3. Administratively appoints chaplains and other ministers for our recognised chaplaincies, in close consultation with the Bishops,

  4. Oversees the official process for the recognition of new chaplaincies, prison chaplaincies and salaried ministerial posts,

  5. Checks and approves the budgets and accounts of the chaplaincies before they are sent to the local communal or provincial authorities,

  6. Oversees and supports the work of the recognised Committee for Anglican Religious Education (CAGO) in Dutch-speaking state schools in Flanders and Brussels,

  7. Oversees and supports the work of our salaried Anglican chaplains in Belgian prisons and open prisons,

  8. Maintains close ecumenical and interfaith relations at an official level,

  9. Organises in conjunction with the other recognised religions conferences of public interest,

  10. Organises in conjunction with the other recognised religions a course of training for religious professionals in Belgium,

  11. Actively participates with the other recognised religions in other relevant national projects, such as Humanitarian Corridors.
