Cérémonie dédiée à la mémoire des victimes des génocides reconnus officiellement par l'Etat belge

On 5 December, the Chaplain-President and the Vice-President were honoured to attend the annual conference to commemorate the victims of the genocides recognised by the Belgian State, held in the Chamber of Deputies of the Federal Parliament. Belgium's colonial history means that the Rwandan genocide of 1994 and its daughter genocides in Eastern Congo up to the present day are often commemorated. But this year, specialists gave lectures on the Armenian genocide of 1915-1917 and the Bosniak genocide in Srebrenica of 1995. The Central Committee commits itself unreservedly and with all its force to fostering the democracy, truthfulness, tolerance, diplomacy and respect required to defeat the dictatorship, propaganda, nationalism, conflict and demonising which are the societal conditions in which genocides take root.
