On 14 July, the Chaplain-President, in his capacity as Bishop Robert's adviser for EU affairs, participated in a meeting organised by the Wilfried Martens Centre and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung to discuss EU migration policy. The main speaker was Margaritis Schinas, formerly Vice-President of the European Commission. A full exchange of information and views took place as the European Union implements its Pact on Migration and Asylum with the aim of setting up fair and humane systems for the processing of applications for asylum and the welcome given to asylum-seekers in Europe.
